Lab · Bitcoin test network (signet) · about 25 minutes
Sandbox wallet
The whole experience of self-custody without real money: create a wallet, write down its words, receive test coins, delete the wallet, restore it from the words and send the coins back.
Lab status: available. What happens when the test network is down
If the test network or the faucet cannot be reached, the lab says so and goes on: creating the wallet, writing down and checking the words, deleting and restoring work without it. Receiving and sending need the test network.
These coins are worthless
This wallet runs on Bitcoin signet, a test network. Its coins cannot be sold or exchanged for anything and have no value. Nothing here involves real money.
What stays in the browser
The words and keys are created in this browser tab and kept in its memory only. They are not stored and never sent to WhatTheChain or anyone else. Only the wallet's public address reaches our server: to look up its test coins and to ask the faucet.

Create a practice wallet
The browser creates 12 random words. The words are the wallet: whoever has them controls the coins.
What you just learned
What happens here
Your browser draws a random number and encodes it as 12 words from a published list of 2,048. These practice words exist only in this tab.
