120 words
WhatTheChain is an independent, multilingual reference for crypto-assets and the money they are compared with. It has four parts. Learn explains concepts at three depths, with a glossary. Do gives step-by-step guides for each country. Choose rates wallets, exchanges and services from 0 to 100 against the highest value measured in their category, on published criteria, and ranks them by the reader’s own weighting. Context covers money supply, interest rates, regulation and incidents. Methods, sources, disputes and conflicts of interest are public, and no commercial relationship influences what is written, rated or ranked. WhatTheChain gives no investment advice and does not say what to buy. Reading it needs no account. Operated by pending: operator.
How to quote a rating
A rating is a measurement under a published method on a given day. Quote it so that a reader can find that method and that day.
“Rated [value] / 100 by WhatTheChain, method [version], [date]”
- The method version. Ratings can change when the method changes; the version says which rules applied.
- The date. The date of the release the value comes from, as the product page shows it.
- A link. To the product page, where the history and the evidence are.
- No verdicts. Not as a seal, a winner or a superlative: a rating describes measured properties of a product, not a choice for anyone.
Every change of a rating, with its reason: the rating changelog
